Car insurance is one of the most popular insurance products to date primarily because almost everywhere, insuring a car or any motor vehicle is not just a necessity but a compulsion from the government authorities. This has caused not only immense competition but also, because this is more of a norm than a necessity, car insurance companies have actually tried to experiment with this insurance product as the risk element of the product failing is quite low while the customer base remains and-if at all- only increases.
Many car insurance companies have tried to ascertain and establish “good driving habits” that lead to lesser accidents and infringements thereby reducing the risk of claims. These organizations, once having established their standards of “measurement”, offer their customers a provision to pay a lesser premium amount if they prove that their driving habits are good.
This move- though controversial on some fronts- has turned out to be fairly popular and has lead to various researches on the accident phenomenon and what kind of discipline needs to be inculcated to reduce the risk of accidents. Moreover, having surveyed across various verticals; that is, young drivers, old drivers, male drivers, female drivers, age groups etc. and having juiced out all the information across all parameters, it was observed that women statistically speaking- are better drivers than men.
Some of the prominent statistical figures establish that men lead on women by over thirty percent when it comes to speeding, seat belt violations and reckless driving. These are the figures that have been drawn by some insurance companies to offer women’s car insurance at a discounted premium.
Though this is not quite applicable on everyone but this sure has given a firm support to all those companies which have offered car insurances with a so called “inclination for leniency” towards women drivers, of course basis some established standards being met.
